Funding appeal: The Bakhtiari: nomads who ruled Iran
This is your chance to be part of ensuring the photographic history of the Bakhtiari is preserved for ever.
The leading publisher on the Middle East and the Islamic World, I.B.Tauris (www.ibtauris.com), is keen to support the publication of a definitive photographic history of the Bakhtiari. However, in order to include the large number of very special images collected for, and following, the two successful exhibitions in 2008 at the London School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS: www.soas.ac.uk/gallery/bakhtiari-kuch/); the publishers are asking for a financial contribution to printing costs. With additional costs to prepare some of the oldest images for publication, I am therefore currently trying to raise a total of £27,000.
Donations to the publishing fund – however small (or large!) – are all gratefully received.
